The latest offering from Scholastic is mostly to do with wisdom and being wise. The Wisdom of Mulla Nasruddin by Shahrukh Hussain is a collection of 25 stories that showcases the now legendary Mulla with his unconventional problem-solving abilities. Under all that foolery is a wisdom that often even the wise miss. The Mulla is no preacher nor is he out to prove the world a fool but he can't resist an opportunity to tease and show proud bores up. A real folk hero (the earliest mention of him dates back to 1480), the fun of the tales hasn't jaded.
The Mystery Of The Secret Hair Oil Formula is yet another release from Scholastic. The bright yellow book jacket with characters running around on a braid of hair invites us to get to the story. And what a story it is! Malu Paati's father was a famous scientist who had discovered a most amazing hair tonic formula that could make hair grow on even bald heads. Now thieves are desperate to get the secret recipe. Malu Patti has run out of places to hide the formula. What is she to do?
