Simple tales

SUBAJAYANTHI B.

Twelve picture books that tell the story of a sheep called Nini.

Nini, a baby sheep, is here to amuse children, while teaching them morals and learning herself. This set of 12 picture books featuring Nini is for children in the age group of two to seven years. The books deal with the everyday problems faced by Nini and how she overcomes them.

A team of four speech and hearing impaired artists from Ettamina Studios, Mumbai, has done the computer generated illustrations. The four artists — Suhas Joshi, Shivaji Sawant, Prakash Kanchan and Naresh Soneji — are in their early 20's. They have an inborn talent and do not have any formal training. Nikhil Nagra, creative head of Ettamina Studios, was the one who trained them to use computers to create illustrations for books and animated cartoons.

Nini's Playtime with Friends, Nini Learns to Forgive, Nini at the Birthday Party, Nini's Solo Trip, Shymala S., Alka Publications, Rs. 25 each
