Poems alive!

A vivid collection of poems.

"Kroash, kroash... " croaked the voice of Naseerudin Shah as he went "awn and awn and awn" rendering Vikram Seth's "The Frog and the Nightingale".

Chakra Audiobooks, an imprint of Karadi Tales Company, launched the audio book Listening to poetry, a collection of 60 poems, in two volumes, at the British Council recently. The first copy was released by the Assistant Professor of English, Srilata K. and was received by the principal of Chettinad Vidyashram, Mr. Bhavani Shankar.

Listen carefully

Chosen from the syllabi of the NCERT and the CBSE, the poems are brought alive with the voices of Naseerudin Shah, Gareth Armstrong, Shernaz Patel and Dhritiman Chaterjee.

The background music by "Three brothers and a Violin" heightened the emotions without interfering with the poem.

Hauntingly beautiful was Sarojini Naidu's "Palanquin Bearers" rendered by Shernaz Patel.
