ANXIOUS MOMENTS: At the talent hunt

N. Kalyani, the Std. X student of Railway High School, won her first-ever gold medal in the junior Fin category in the inter-district taekwondo meet held at Nandiyal in the Kurnool District. Her coaches are K. Jagan Mohan Rao and Naveen Kalyan. L. Suryanarayana of Ritwik College won the other gold in the senior featherweight category.

"We also had three silver medals by Pavan Sai, Std. XI student of Satya Sai School, K. Lalitha Babu, Std. VII student of Nalanda School, Ayyappanagar, and Sai Kiran of Sri Chaitanya Institutions," reveals Mr. Rao. Four more school children from Vijayawada - N. Kalyan, Sk. Asif, N. Naik and L.T Sai, won a bronze medal each.

K. Jagan Mohan Rao, the coach explains that taekwondo is a combination of combat technique, self-defence, sport, exercise, and pure entertainment.
