Amrita Vidyalayam, Boloor, celebrated its annual day here with grandeur at the Town Hall here. Ganesh Karnik, Member of Legislative Council, who was the chief guest, spoke on the importance of the system of education in the development of children. Capt. Karnik advised the students to inculcate discipline and be dedicated to their academics and co curricular activities. Mangalamrta Chaitanya, correspondent of the school graced the occasion and got the function underway to a traditional start by lighting the lamp. Jeevaraj Sorake, president of Mata Amritanandamayi Math Seva Samiti, Mangalore welcomed the gathering. Indira Varma, principal of the school presented the annual report. The dignitaries gave away prizes to winners of various competitions conducted during the academic year. The students came up with a colourful cultural programme after the formal stage function.
