SONG AND DANCE: The audience eager for more
Mix colours, dance and music with some fine food and lots of laughter- and you have an ideal children's day out. And that is precisely what the "Children's fest" organised by Prajna Counselling Centre recently was about.
Nearly 900 children from the city sang, danced, and had a blast on that day.
At the start of the day, blue, green, yellow and red coloured papers fluttered in the air as children waved coloured ribbons in the air. The programme, to the delight of kids, began with an action song that involved them all.
"I am a musician, come from China, hoon papa hoon papa, ding ding ding", they first chorused smiling. And then came the actions- they delighted in scowling and making faces at each other.
Talented display
The performer in the kids came to the fore at the music, dance and drama performances held through the day. Mixed with all the fun, came a little piece of advice. B.Dayanand, Superintendent of Police who was the chief guest on the occasion urged children to participate in cultural and sports activities, and develop a competitive spirit. He told them that talent finds its place in every field. "Success always came to those who work with determination and confidence". And that little glint in the eyes of the kids while he spoke, made it seem like they took his words seriously. Most of the children at the function were those who had known hard times. They were former child labourers who had been mainstreamed by Prajna Counselling Centre. Their lives have improved a bit.
