SPREADING SOCIAL AWARENESS: At the quiz

Four Steps, a research, training and rehabilitation centre for individuals with special needs run by Dalmia Sewa Trust recently organised Gyan Manjari-2007, a State Level Inter-Special School Quiz competition. This aims to generate awareness and appreciation of the intellectual capability of the mentally challenged. The objective is to enhance the knowledge of special children through a quiz competition.

Quizzards

Students from around 30 special schools from all over Delhi participated in the quiz held in the amphitheatre of Hotel Ashok. The quiz was based on special education curriculum like current affairs, general science, audio-visual rounds, and others.

The competition began with preliminary rounds followed by a cultural programme by the students of Four Steps and the exciting final round in which the first prize was a tie-up between Four Steps and Kulachi Hansraj school while the second and the third prizes went to Frontline school and Sahara Manovikas, respectively.

Jayanti Dalmia, Founder and Chairperson of Four Steps said, "Gyan Manjari is a step towards spreading social awareness regarding the intellectual capacity of mentally challenged individuals. We endeavour to motivate inclusion of these individuals into our society at large," she added.

The result was a draw between Four Steps and Kulachi Hansraj followed by Frontline School and Sahara Manovikas.
