The Judas kiss

P. SOLOMON DHANARAJ

Ghana issued an 11 pesawas stamp for Easter 1978. It depicts Judas betraying Jesus at Gethsemene. Soldiers come in search of Jesus to take him to the Jewish High Priests for interrogation on charges of blasphemy. They could not identify him, but Judas, one of the disciples, betrays Jesus saying, "Hail Master!" and kissing him. This copperplate engraving by Albrecht Durer, is now kept in the Victoria and Albert museum, London.
