Shanthiniketan School

The inauguration of the new school building and annual day celebrations of Shanthiniketan School were held at the school premises in Kunnumpuram, Vilappil, recently. The Minister for Law and Sports M. Vijayakumar inaugurated the school building in the presence of a large gathering of students, teachers and parents. Rabindrakumar Agarwal, Additional Secretary, Water Resources, inaugurated the annual day celebration. This was followed by cultural programmes in which all the students of the school took part. The teachers of the school choreographed the dance items. The Mohiniyattom performance and action songs presented by the kindergarten section drew praise from all sections of the audience. It was amusing to see primary students enacting the roles of historical personalities like Veluthampy Dalawa, Swathi Thirunal and Pazhassi Raja. . Some of the extra-curricular activities of the school include home science, craft, music, dance and sewing. Study tours also form an important part of the school's curriculum.

Inputs by John L. Paul and Sangeeth Kurian
