April 7 is World Health Day. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Around the globe, thousands of events mark the importance of health for productive and happy lives.
This year's theme is International Health Security. The aim is to urge governments, organisations and businesses to "Invest in health, build a safer future".
Activity
Form a Health Brigade in your class. Go around the school campus and find out how clean the surroundings are. If certain areas need to be cleaned bring it to the notice of the authorities concerned. Get involved in keeping the school buildings and the surroundings clean. Carry out awareness campaigns. Use the school notice board to keep the entire school posted on the activities of the Brigade. Work together for health.
