Techie Taffy

PAROMITA PAIN

April is a good month for many. What better time to find out what's new on the hobby scene?

Well, as Techie discovered, the word hobby isn't new. In fact `riding one's hobbyhorse' has been a favourite pastime from the days of yore. Want to know more about it? Check out the Wikipedia pages at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hobby.

For a list of things to explore look at the extensive though still incomplete list at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_hobbies.

If you want you can make new friends while pursuing the hobby of your choice then the page http://dir.yahoo.com/Recreation/Hobbies/ is a good one with links to different hobby ideas. For the artistically inclined check out the site at http://www.indianchild.com/interesting_hobbies.htm.

The Kids Crafts link teaches children to make bookmarks, invisible ink and pencil tops The crafts for Kids section is a resource to learn button jars, play dough, and girl hat making.

Fun Crafts is interesting — it's all about making flowers, planters, furry bears and turkeys.

The Easy Crafts for kids is for young children who want to make bean bags, candle holders, Chinese kites, pencil boxes, stationery and stain glass window hangers.

At the Easy Crafts-n -Hobbies, learn to make jewellery boxes, earrings, gift bags, key holders, miniature vases and picture frames.

The crossword freak can access free crosswords, themed ones besides online and print ones at http://puzzles.about.com/od/crosswords/a/

But the kind among them all is the http://www.hobbyuniversity.com/ that promises to fight "boredom one student at a time!". Techie will say no more. This is one page that must be visited to uncover all the treats in store.
