Australia Post issued a 45-cent stamp depicting the bottlenose dolphin in 1998.

Dolphin is an aquatic mammal unrelated to fish. Its zoological name is Delphinus delphis. The dolphin family consists of the bottle-nosed, white-beaked and white-sided variety. Often, they race ships for fun. There are numerous stories about how dolphins have befriended humans.
