Sing and dance mathematics away

Ethnic beats to numbers: At the programme

Just imagine: 19X3=57, 19X4=76, 19x5=95=Yawn!!! Mathematics bores many of us, and tables even more so. But what if you could learn your tables as you sang and danced?

That is precisely what a music CD released by Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education helps us do. Math tables are rendered musically to make it interesting for children.

Carnatic vocal artiste Prarthana Rao released the CD at the valedictory of summer courses conducted by the Foundation, recently. It costs Rs. 60, and is available for sale at Sandesha.

After the release of the CD and the official website of the Foundation, it was time for kids to take over the stage. Through piano recitals, Bharatanatyam performances and skits, children put out a show of talents they had acquired in the three weeks of the summer course.

The chief guest was the Deputy Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao.
