Facets of fun

It was difficult for the children to quantify the amount of fun they had at “Pillala Sandadi”, an event that saw the A.P. Ranga Kreeda Pranganam on the premises of Swaraj Maidan, where the annual industrial and agricultural exhibition is on. The Krishna Industrial and Agricultural Exhibition Society created a unique platform exclusively for children below eight years, to familiarise them with the options of living together in safe, healthy and happy surrounding s. “We want the children to realise the importance of their role in creating happy surroundings,” said an organiser.

Develop skills

The programmes were stimulating and thought-provoking, taking the children closer to a world that is dynamic and purposeful, yet unhurried; where the children can develop skills at their own pace; where they can find their own style and self-worth without excessive competitive tension; where adventure is real, yet carefully supervised; where learning is the result of participation.

Even as they discussed with curiosity about the evening agenda, the announcer demystified the air by calling on the stage the participants of a ballet on evolution of civilisation. The excited children saw their friends dressed as jungle animals like a lion, tiger, bear and other creatures such as monkey, rabbit and peacock, walking towards the centre. The crazy hops of the monkey, the fascinating dance of the peacock and the frightful roar of the lion had the wide-eyed children glued to their place and watch the show in awe. The intermittent appearance of a couple of clowns drew excited claps from the participants sitting in rows and vying with one another to touch and feel the buffoons. Since the event was all about being a child, having loads of fun and making new friends, the participants made the best of it by savouring the incredible moments besides tucking into scoops of ice creams, chocolates and biscuits distributed free of cost.

The exhibition society members, in coordination with the Krishna District Sports Authority, planned and organised the cool evening on the hot summer day. At the end of the day, the organisers were happy that the purpose of the event - to develop coordination, strength and fitness among children, was fulfilled.
