The Magellanic penguin: Slightly off course.

Thousands of miles from his icy home in southern Chile, a Magellan penguin reached Peru’s coast to the great surprise of scientists there. It is believed that the penguin got lost while searching for food and became disoriented with the different ocean currents. Scientists at the National Paracas Reserve in southern Peru treated the penguin for an injury to the right wing, possibly caused by a fishing net. News agency AP reports that the authoritie s are trying to coordinate with Chilean government to return the penguin to its original home.
