Unexpected patient

COMPILED BY R.KRITHIKA

Patients at a clinic run by Presbyterian Health Care Services in Albuquerque, New Mexico, were rather startled at the new patient who joined them: a young male black bear. But the animal got immediate attention. He was tranquilised, tagged and then released in the Manzano Mountains about 20 miles away. Since it was quite early in the morning, there weren’t too many people at the clinic and the bear also retreated on seeing humans, said the authorities. The bear was p robably looking for food after hibernating through the winter. Dan Williams, a New Mexico Department of Game and Fish spokesman, told news agency AP that such incidents were not uncommon.
