Yeoman service: Sister Stella with students
I know I am known to be pretty strict with children,” she smiles as the pair of eyes peep through the spectacles.
“But I can’t help it. Putting a set of rules in place and ensuring their adherence by students forms part of my role,” says Sister Stella D’Sauza, principal of Atkinson Higher Secondary School, Vijayawada.
The overwhelming response of the ecstatic children who clapped in excitement as their principal walked through a flower-scattered-path that led to the dais, exhibited in no uncertain terms their love and affection for her.
Characteristics
The school was celebrating Ms. D’Sauza’s completion of 25 years as the principal of the institution. She was modesty personified when she brushed aside compliments about her strength of mind and force of character that have enabled the institution grow from strength to strength in the last couple of decades.
Simple wish
“I want my children to imbibe the set of values we impart here so as to be able to judge between the good and the bad when they grow up,” she said.
