Newly discovered: Ancient wall foundations of a Pharaonic fortress.

Archaeologists have found a huge fortress dating back to between 1560 and 1081 B.C. near the Suez Canal in Egypt. The Tell Huba site also yielded graves of soldiers and animals and a giant moat. The fortress belonged to a time when ancient Egyptian Pharoahs were trying to recover the northern Sinai from the Hyksos. This struggle is shown in the etchings on the Karnak temple. Scholars are amazed at the accuracy of the stories on the walls since the finds in the fortress cor relate with the etchings. Fort Tjaru or Tharo’s walls were made of mud bricks and were 42 feet thick. The walls covered an area that was 500 metres by 250 metres and had 24 watchtowers.
