Tallest sand castle: A world record.

Who holds the Guinness World Record for the tallest sand castle? That’s matter currently under dispute. Is it Ed Jarrett, from Casco, Maine, or the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, South Carolina? Ed Jarrett’s 29-foot tall castle holds the current record but Myrtle Beach has challenged it with a 43-foot castle. But, says Jarrett, Guinness guidelines do not allow use of machinery and also require that the structure is taller than wider. But, says Myrtle Be ach’s spokesperson, we had permission to break the guidelines. Jarrett has completed a 32-foot tall castle to raise money for Camp Sunshine, a camp for terminally ill children. The jury is still out on which is the tallest sand castle.
