Falcons of Fiji island

On March 9, 2006, Fiji released four stamps depicting the Fiji Peregrine Falcon. In Fiji, the Peregrine occurs as a very distinctive subspecies known as “the islander”. Fiji initiated a special project in increasing the population of this type of Falcon and this special stamp issue is the first step towards the goal.
