Sneeze: A symptom.
Some people have a very mild form of asthma and suffer from it only during certain seasons. But sometimes, severe asthma attacks seem to develop suddenly. Hence it is necessary to recognise the symptoms, which serve as early warning signs. The symptoms may, of course, differ from person to person.
Conditions
In patients with a tendency for asthma, symptoms may include a few of the following: runny/stuffy nose, sneezing, headache, dry persistent cough, tiredness, itching of the chin or throat, change in breathing pattern. A mild attack may be limited to coughing, shortness of breath, tightness in the chest, and/or wheezing. A severe attack may include all the symptoms of a mild attack. In addition, there may be more severe symptoms such as difficulty in talking or concentrating, shallower and faster or slower breathing, hunching, shortness of breath when walking, and cyanosis. Cyanosis is a condition where the skin appears grey or bluish, starting with skin around the mouth. In very severe cases, emergency treatment and hospitalisation may be required.
