The programme began with a prayer. This was followed by a group song ‘Heal the World’ which had the message on how to make the world a better place to live. The next item was a presentation on the contributions rendered by various human rights activists and world leaders including Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King (Jr.), Nelson Mandela, Aung Sang Tsu Kyi, Mahatma Gandhi and Mother Teresa. The contributions made by the leaders were showcased with the help of speeches and skits. This was followed by a mime on slavery, a grave instance of human rights violation.
A speech on Child Labour highlighted the exploitation faced by children across the globe. A tableau was also put up depicting various instances of human rights violation taking place in society. The Assembly concluded with the students of the school holding hands and swaying in rhythmic fashion to the tune of ‘We are the world - We are the children’ thereby forming a human chain symbolising harmony of mankind. The joint assembly aimed at creating awareness on human rights violations taking place in society was organised by the History Club of the School.
