Fun time: A field day.
Zorbing is a good way to start, adventure experts say about introducing adventure to youth. The zorb is an inflatable, transparent, sphere made from PVC. All that is needed is a gentle slope and someone to push the zorb with you safely harnessed inside to set the zorb rolling.
It removes the fear factor and low risk adventure sport, they add. Adventure activities help in brushing up inter-personnel skills and boosts self-confidence immensely. Students of Corporation School for Deaf and Dumb, R.S. Puram got a taste of adventure at an outdoor camp recently. Organised by the National Adventure Foundation (Tamil Nadu and Puducherry chapter), it was an outing in Nature’s lap for the physically challenged children. They participated in group activities, trekking, Nature walk and bunjee trampoline activities, all to refresh their minds and feel rejuvenated. Volunteers of the adventure foundation guided the children.
The hilly terrain, land and water resources make South India an ultimate adventure destination in aero sports, land sports and water sports. The objective of NAF is to bring in more civilian participation in adventure activities and conducts regular camps to create awareness among youth. The camp for special children was a part of their social responsibility objective.
