The manuscript: A collection of wizarding fairytales.
Here’s one more fairy tale from the creator of Harry Potter. There are only seven copies of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, a book of fairy tales created, written and illustrated by J.K. Rowling. One leather-bound copy with silver mounts was bought by Amazon.com Inc for $ four million. Auctioneers Sotheby’s had expected the book to fetch about $100,000. AP quoted Rowling as saying “The Tales of Beedle the Bard is really
a distillation of the themes found in the Harry Potter books” and the other copies were given to “people who were closely connected to the Harry Potter collection”. The proceeds from the auction will go to The Children’s Voice, a charity supported by the author. Amazon.com also announced that the reviews of the stories can be found on the website. A discussion board was also launched to answer questions from Harry Potter fans.
