Philatelic exhibition
The 10th India National Philatelic Exhibition INPEX 2008 will be hosted by the Tamil Nadu Postal Cirlce. The exhibition is to be held from January 2 to 6 at the Rani Meyyammai and Rajah Muthiah hall. This is the first of its kind to be held in Tamil Nadu/ the exhibition will display around 1000 frames and will provide an opportunity to the philatelists of India to show outstanding collections.
A colourful souvenir containing articles on postal history and philately by experts will be released.
Special postal covers on various themes will also be relesed on each day of the exhibition.
There will be booths for stamp dealers from all over the country.
India has found its due place on the map of world philately. Since Independence, India Post has issued several definitive and commemorative series of stamps portraying various aspects of the country’s life and culture, and played a pivotal role for the promotion of the hobby.
