Park bench mystery

COMPLIED BY N.K.

A park bench perched 10 feet up in the air on metal stilts recently appeared in New York, leading local residents to ponder its origin. While some people have applauded the impromptu addition, the fact that it is essentially airborne and bolted to a traffic island could pose some sitting problems, the New York Post reported. Since the park bench appeared out of nowhere recently, area residents have been split on whether it represents art or simply a bad practical joke. The Post said officials with the city’s Department of Transportation were reviewing the situation and would soon decide the ultimate fate of New York’s newest and most likely unique park bench.
