Going for humpbacks

COMPILED BY SUBAJAYATHI

Whale activists gathered to make the shape of a Humpback Whale on Bondi Beach in Sydney to draw attention to the plight of the species and other whales threatened by the Japanese whaling fleet. In consequence to that and following pressure from the International Whaling Commission (IWC) Japan has announced that the hunt for humpbacks would stop for at least a year. Japan is regularly condemned for its annual whaling missions.
