Great architecture

The Aga Khan award for Architecture was instituted in 1977 by the Aga Khan, the 49th Imam of Shia Ismaili muslims. It aims at understanding and appreciation of Islamic Culture in architecture. Two stamps, featuring the Agra Fort were issued by the Department of Posts on November 28, 2004, in commemoration of the award ceremony. One stamp depicts the Khas Mahal and the other the Mussaman Burj. Both stamps are priced at Rs. 15 each.
