Of a feather

P.SOLOMON DHANARAJ

Switzerland (Helvetia) issued a set of four stamps on domestic birds in August 2007. The 85 centimes stamp features a common Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), which feeds on insects and seeds. The 110c stamp shows a wall creeper (Tichodroma muraria) which eats away insects and spiders found in Alpine rocky crevices. Switzerland is home to most of the European wall creepers. The other two depict the Great Tit and Tengmalm’s owl.
