The poem of the day is an interesting read and the techie happened to stumble upon the site. It was all about an apple. “There is a star in every apple,” goes the poem and it sure teaches us to look at an apple differently. Full of free contests, writing tips and poems by various writers that you can read for inspiration. Besides there are many competitions throughout the month.

On the http://www.poetry.com/contest/contest.asp page, it is “Poetry.com will award over 1,200 awards and prizes, totalling over $100,000, to amateur poets in the coming months”.

Most modern poets

The page at http://www.poets.org/ is important and has many links to the world of poetry. Meant for grown up children, the pages might seem full of difficult words, but do go through them. They are about the latest and the most modern poets of the world. Read the lines and their work available online. They will also convince you that poetry isn’t as tough as it seems.
