Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd
Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Lted, an ONGC group company, continued its Samrakshan programme for the benefit of the community in and around Mangalore. From February 1, 2008, the company will provide 926 students drawn from 72 government schools attending primary to high school, with merit scholarship of Rs. 700 per month for the entire academic year. Two students each from each division from class I to class X in 52 schools from around Kuthethoor and 20 from Sarpa
dy will benefit from these merit scholarships. The respective schools will decide on students based on their performance and needs. “In view of importance of good educational inputs necessary for all sections of society, every year MRPL, sets apart a part of its mite to boost education amongst the more needy in Dakshina Kannada. This year our contribution has been increased to Rs 6.27 lakhs”, says R. Rajamani, MD, MRPL. Basheer Ahmed, corporator inaugurated the MRPL Samrakshan Award Scheme at the D K Zilla Panchayat higher Primary School, Kuthethoor. S. K. Kadri, DGM P&HR, MRPL spoke on the occasion. Lalita Nayak, headmistress of the school, and Shrisha Karmaran from MRPL, were present on the occasion.
