The punch line on the stage’s background during St. Patrick’s School’s annual sports day--aspire to achieve—said it all. Fr. Marianna, Superior, Society of Jesus was welcomed. Fr. Alex, Principal then presented the annual report. Two toppers in academies of each section were honoured by Fr. Stanley, Provincial, Andhra Province, Society of Jesus, who stressed on charact
er and education as the dual pillars of youth formation. Outstanding students in sports were honoured by the evening’s chief guest, Safir Adeni, CEO, SITEL, as were others by Mrs. Adeni, a little earlier.
Appreciation
Discipline and persistent effort, which he acknowledged were acquired while in St. Patrick’s, had helped him reach the pinnacles in life, he said. Fr. Alex then honoured 24 students who had achieved at the State and national levels. Jayanthi Harish and Vibhav Srinarayan, SSC toppers of 2006, were feted as were Nishkal and Neeraj for coming up trumps in the seventh standard exams. Bhargav of Std. XA was adjudged the best outgoing student by the Old Boys’ Association and presented a rolling shield and trophy. The overall championship trophy was won by Akbar House captain R. Kshitij and Vice-Captain Mervyn Rohit. The runners-up trophy went to Loyola House Captain A. Bhargav and Vice Captain Nishanth. Anvesh Reddy was adjudged the best sportsman.
