IFFCO organised a youth awareness programme
The Tiruchi District Cooperative Union in association with the IFFCO organised a youth awareness programme at the Ammapettai Tirukkudumba R. C. Higher Secondary School, recently. The Headmistress of the school, Rev. Sr. Margaret Mary, presided. The Special Officer of the Union, S. Mathivanan spoke on the important role the cooperative movement played in the overall development of society.
The Deputy Manager of the IFFCO, the chief guest, said the cooperative movement had taken deep roots in the country and over a lakh primary agricultural cooperative banks and four lakh milk production societies were functioning in about seven lakh villages in India. The special officer of the Chathirappatti Primary Agricultural Cooperative Bank, C. Vijayalakshmi also spoke. Mr. Subramanian gave away prizes to the students Sadam Hussain, Usha Lakshmi Sivaraj, Imran Khan, Yasodha, Podumponnu and Indirani who took active part in the interaction.
