Brilliant blooms

R. SOUNDARARAJAN

Hungary Post issued in 1991 a seven-forint stamp featuring lobelia cardinalis, named after the Flemish botanist M. de Lobel in England who died in 1616.

Lobelia is a herbaceous plant of the Campanula order. The plants yield brilliant flowers mostly of red colour inclining to orange. They have deeply cleft corolla without spur.
