Village Education Day was celebrated at the Municipal Primary School, Mannarpuram, in the city recently.

Corporation Councillor S. Balamurugan presided over the function. Headmistress R. Vijayalakshmi urged the students to cultivate the reading habit. The students were asked to converse in English to improve their communication skills. K. Mahalakshmi, a teacher, offered felicitations.
