Triceratops takes a ride

A suspicious package in a bus? What do you think it could be? One such package in Peru turned out to be a dinosaur fossil. Weighing about nine kg, the giant jawbone had been stored in the cargo area of a Lima-bound bus. Worried about its weight and that there was no mention of the contents, the company opened the package and called the cops. An archaeologist from the National University, Arequipa, said the bone could be from a triceratops thought they are have not been fou nd in southern Peru. The triceratops lived around 65-70 million years ago and fossils have been found mainly in western North America. But Peru has been fighting trafficking of fossils and artefacts for years. Yale University recently agreed to send back pieces from the ancient site of Machu Pichu.
