Sri Vidhya Academy International Residential School

Sri Vidhya Academy International Residential School conducted a workshop on disaster management recently.

The workshop was inaugurated by Ian Chambers, Regional Manager South Asia, CIE University of Cambridge. Dr.Yukiko Takuechi and Ms.Miwa Imura demonstrated how the effect of a tsunami could be minimised by developing mangrove forests on the sea shore. < /p>

The workshop was organised by Dr. R. R. Krishnamoorthy and Dr. D. Jayalakshmi of the Centre for Ocean and Coastal Sciences of Madras University and Graduate school of Global Environment studies, Kyoto University, Japan.
