RAHUL RAJ: Hostage situation.

Protesting against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackeray’s remarks against immigrants, a 23-year-old Bihari youth tried to hold bus passengers hostage in Mumbai last Monday but was shot dead by the police. Rahul Raj from Patna was shown holding a weapon and telling the police that he wanted to talk to the police commissioner and the media in a video grab. The conductor of the bus told reporters that Rahul had talked of wanting to kill the MNS chief Ra j Thackeray. This led to protests in Bihar with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar demanding a CBI enquiry into the killing. On October 19, MNS activists attacked north Indians aspiring for jobs in the Railways in Mumbai. Thackeray was arrested on October 21 for provoking attacks on migrants leading to protests in Maharashtra and a backlash against migrants.
