For a happy time: Make new friends
School is a place where minds are moulded, characters built and friends made who last for a lifetime.
But what if one has to shift to a new school or a new city? Best friends and favourite teachers are left behind. A lot of apprehension come to mind. Says Shenifa Aly who left Meridian School and joined Nasr School, “The students had already built a negative impression about me because I was from a co-ed school.”
Overcome problems
Shyamala from Orissa, who has joined a school in one of the twin cities, and has made many friends.
So, moving to a new school can have its positive as well as negative effects. But you can make good friends in the new school too. There might be a music or art club in the new school that is interesting. Check the library for great reading.
"Usually we have children joining from other States. We help them adjust to the new environment and monitor them," says Shubhanarayana Nayak, a teacher from Shantiniketan Vidyalaya.
