In a rare event many children were benefitted as they got notebooks and other stationery items for their education from auto rickshaw drivers.

Over 1000 government school going children from economically weaker sections of society received timely help from a few social workers who distributed free notebooks and other necessary material to them.
Social help
An organisation floated by auto-rickshaw drivers contributed their hard-earned money to support the children for whom buying notebooks is a luxury.
At a function held at IMA Hall at the district Government hospital premises the Vedike led by Kalmesh, distributed note books, pencils, erasers and a packet of biscuits to more than 250 children studying in different government schools. The President of Karnataka State Forest Industries Corporation Shankargouda Patil and District Health and Family Welfare Officer Ashok Murgod also participated in the programme.
On the other side of the city, Abhay Kumar Patil too distributed notebooks, pencils, erasers, compass box and colour pencils to 850 children, who are either orphans or have only one parent.
All these children belonged to the economically weaker sections.
