Event Structure
Preliminary Round & Regional Final Round : At each centre, there will be a written preliminary round to select the six teams for the regional finals. The preliminary round and the regional finals in each region will be held on the same day. One winning team from each region will be eligible to participate in the national Semi-Final to be held this year in Visakhapatnam.
Semi-Final Round : The regional finalists will participate in the national Semi-Finals. Two semi-finals of 6 and 7 teams in each will be held at Visakhapatnam on 13th November 2008.
Final Round : 6 teams, selected from the Semi-Finals, will compete each other for the top honors at Visakhapatnam on 13th November 2008.
Rules/Procedure
The Regional Rounds will be conducted in 13 cities: Chennai, Puducherry, Madurai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangalore, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vishakapatnam and culminating in an All India Final in Visakhapatnam
The schools should complete their entries and send it to the local regional office of The Hindu within the specified dates
Each school can send in a maximum of three teams, using the Entry Cards sent to them.
Participation is open to school students in classes VI to IX
Teams must consist of any two bonafide students from the same school
All participants are requested to carry entry cards to the venue
All the participants must report at the venue, atleast 45 minutes prior to the commencement of the preliminary round as given in the schedule.
The teams in each centre will participate in a written preliminary round to decide the 6 finalists for that centre. In each centre, the finals would be held immediately after the prelims.
The winners in each centre will qualify for the All India Semi-Final
The Hindu will arrange for the travel and stay of the outstation teams (along with one adult escort per team) qualifying for the All India Semi-Final
The Organisers reserve the right to amend the rules as they deem fit.
All India Final: 13th, November 2008 in Visakhapatnam at 2.30 p.m.
